MY FIRST BOOK

MY MOTHER’S MIRROR

A BIT ABOUT THE BOOK

My Mother’s Mirror is a collection of tumultuous true stories entangled in identity crisis, relationships, motherhood, parenting, and adolescence. A memoir-style book that shifts from a daughter’s perspective to her mother’s tells a generational story of acquiring principles to cultivate oneself with grit, purpose, and integrity to find personal power and fulfillment.

EXCERPT

“Learning something meaningful, bonding over it, and spreading the knowledge can generate a flight of change. With introspection, courage, and grit, you can be that domino and influence a movement. My mother is the domino that moves me to model her character and work as she does, in tribute to truth seeking and justice via her passions. She always says, “Sabrina, my daughter, is my inspiration: She is not only my master but my masterpiece.” My mother, too, has been and will always be mine.”

MY BLOG

FOSTERING CHANGE THROUGH MY WORDS

Pursuing an active role in my community has been instilled in me since I was little. My blog posts have enabled me to express myself freely, through styling words and crafting pieces about subjects I’m passionate about. I aim to spread tolerance, respect and compassion while discussing human rights, student issues, and global affairs. In each piece, I tie together various themes and connect past to present to better the future.

MY PROJECTS

FOSTERING PROGRESS THROUGH MY PROJECTS

My projects have enabled me to develop my character through compassionate acts toward my community and beyond. Through these projects, I’ve developed my passion for human rights through my heritage and roots, various missions, and a diverse exposure to cultures.

MY MOTHER'S MIRROR BOOK

My book tells a generational story of purpose, resilience, and self-discovery from my perspective and my mother’s. It demonstrates how my mother came to transform obstacles into opportunities, and how she’s impacted me to do the same.

COMBATTING ANTISEMETISM

My strong Jewish identity pairs with the central Jewish principle, Tikkun Olam: repair oneself to repair the world. It drives me to educate people around the world about Jewish life and Israel, and most importantly, combat anti-Semitism.

HOLOCAUST STUDIES AND EDUCATION

Since visiting Yad Vashem in Jerusalem as a part of my Bat Mitzvah project, I’ve been fascinated by the subject ever since. I have travelled around the world and interviewed survivors to deepen my knowledge so I could create educational projects.

About Me

My Passions, Principles, and Motivation

I aim to channel my passions through contributing to communities at large. At school, I serve as an e-board member of the Jewish organization, Chabad GW and am also an ops writer for the GW Hatchet. Outside of school I am working to publish my paired mother-daughter book, a women’s empowerment narrative that bridges generations through true stories and value-based lessons (publishing soon!). I have also written for ICIARA technologies, and co-authored the USC EDGECenter award-receiving project, SELF-EX: A Guide to Manage Adversity Responsibly.

The Jewish principle of Tikkun Olam, or repairing the world for the collective good, inspires my character, work, daily life, and aspirations. Naturally curious and intrigued by the world around me, I relish in merging philosophical thought while becoming an agent of critical thinking and personal transformation. I staunchly believe in the harmony between value-based tools and academic freedom to shift societal paradigms to fuel collective goals. Learn More About Me
